My friend Nadia has one of the coolest jobs ever, and last week she let me tag along while we surveyed a piece of property she's hoping to purchase with the organization she works for, Columbia Land Trust. When she isn't exploring around the wetlands and forests, she's networking and communicating with land owners, logging companies and writing grants to buy and preserver beautiful pieces of land along the Columbia river and surrounding areas. There's nothing like going back to the place you grew up and realizing just how great you had it as a kid. Lucky for me, I'm just a hop skip away from that place and I get to visit quite often. My mother is an amazing landscaper and my dad is one talented carpenter. Between the two of them, they continue to create an inspiring and beautiful home and with summer just around the corner, life is lush and alive.
