There is something extremely humbling, about living on the Coast. Especially in this area, where the earth just seems to run headlong into the ocean, leaving in it's wake, a trail of jagged rocks, gnarled trees and a vast array of life. This place is constantly changing and shows no sign of slowing down. Since I've been to this beach last, the sand levels have risen, and cliffs have crumbled. I'm just happy to be around for it all. Turtle Rock.
Annie + Josh
Last week, on the fourth of July, I had the pleasure and honor of co-photographing alongside my good friend Laura Grauwen, the wedding of Josh and Annie Simmons. The couple got engaged the Fourth before and in honor of that, decided to take their vows exactly a year to date. This was my first time shooting a wedding and it was an exciting and endearing day, full of laughter, love and even some tears. I felt myself becoming wrapped up in the moment, along with everyone else who witnessed the celebration. It felt as if the whole town was there, cheering these two on and their beautiful, lively family. Here are just a few, of the many memorable moments.
Summer Hours
I love the time that falls from the late afternoon, into the early evening and dusk. Everything seems to just slow down and fall into a warm and relaxed rhythm. Sometimes we forget to stop the ever moving pace of our working days, sometimes we just can't afford it. But the little snippets of time we do allow ourselves, we must thoroughly resonate in. Here's a few pictures I snapped this past week, that help reminded me, to do so.
Voodoo Magic
Last night, the Voodoo Room at the Columbian was full of good people, great music and delicious drinks. Fever Damn and Toothy Gazelle were there performing hilarious and heartwarming music, celebrating the birthdays of some great guys. Smiles all around, it was a good night.
Rebecca + James
Here are just a few snapshots from the wedding Matt and I attended, Memorial Day weekend. This is one beautiful family they have, inside and out.
